Rzeszow, Poland, February 17, 2010. In the second leg of the Polish-Bulgarian duel in CICL Playoffs 12 Asseco Resovia RZESZOW cruised CSKA SOFIA in straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-18) and secured the spot in the next round. It is a huge success for the Poles who have been sensational so far and they still did not say the final word!

After an important victory achieved in Bulgaria (3-1) it was clear that Asseco Resovia is in more advantageous position and can play without additional tension. More than 4.000 supporters in Podpromie sports hall saw very convincing and enjoyable victory of the Polish team which was dominating especially in service and reception.

The top scorer of the game was as usually Asseco Resovia opposite – Mikko Oivanen (14 points). Philip Maiyo (13 points) and Teodor Todorov (11 points) were the best among CSKA players.

- Our situation after defeat at home was too difficult. Of course we had some hope and expectations before this game. In the first set we played point by point until the last decisive balls when we committed too many errors in reception. That was the key moment of that game because afterwards we obviously lost our confidence - said Nikolay Ivanov, the captain of CSKA SOFIA.

- We are very pleased with the promotion to the best 6. It is clear that the key to our qualification was a victory we achieved in Bulgaria. Tonight we proved that we are simply better than our opponents and we deserved this success - stated Krzysztof Gierczynski, captain of Asseco Resovia.

- The picture is clear - the better team won and qualified further. I hope that Resovia will make a good result against Betclic Trentino, in my opinion the best team in the world. I wish them success. Today they were better than us especially in service, reception and defense - commented Aleksander Popov, head coach of the Bulgarian team.

- I am very delighted with this victory. Moreover, I am also satisfied that this win did not cost my team too much energy as we have a very important game against ZAKSA Kedzierzyn – Kozle in Polish league this Saturday. This season is very tough for us as almost all the games we have been playing are important, especially at that stage of the season. But this is also something we have to learn as all the classy teams are used to play tough games every Wednesday and Saturday - ended Ljubo Travica, the head coach of the local team.
